Corey was raised in Marion, Iowa and got her Bachelor's degree from Drake University in Journalism.  After graduating from Drake, Corey moved a bit and resided in Dayton Beach, FL, Minneapolis, MN, Washington D.C., Falls Church, VA, Cincinnati, OH, Springdale, AR and settled back in the burbs of Minneapolis to raise two kids, Ryan and Aly.  Once settled back in Minneapolis, Corey took advanced classes in non-profit at St. Thomas University.
 
Corey worked as a news reporter then on to non-profit as the Development Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association in MN and United Cerebral Palsy in Washington, D.C   She was a stay at home Mom for six years. Her last position was nationwide, with a medical device company for 21 years as a Grant Specialist for EMS providers.  She was thrilled to join SIM-MT in October of 2022. 
 
Her passion and driving force is using her skills to help all first responders, and healthcare providers by alleviating obstacles to their training, equipment, etc.
 
Now an empty nester she resides in Plymouth, MN.
 
Corey enjoys golfing, hiking, boating, traveling, hanging with friends and taking care of the family maltipoo - Freddie.  She has given up the pastime of snowblowing.
