Help Rural Healthcare Teams Be Ready When Lives Are on the Line
When a medical emergency happens in rural communities, the nearest major hospital may be hours away.
A farmer is seriously injured.
A child stops breathing.
A grandmother arrives at a small hospital having a stroke.
In these moments, local healthcare teams must respond immediately.
Your gift helps ensure they’ve already practiced for that moment.
Your donation helps SIM-MT:
• Strengthen the care available to rural farmers, ranchers, children, and grandparents
• Help healthcare providers practice rare, high-risk emergencies before they happen in real life
• Strengthen teamwork and communication when seconds matter most
• Support the doctors, nurses, and paramedics caring for rural communities
• Improve emergency response in places far from major medical centers

A TRUE Story
After participating in SIM-MT training, an EMS team in Hinsdale responded to a real ATV accident involving a young patient.
One EMT later shared:
"I serve as an EMT for Hinsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service. I have participated in at least two trainings led by the SIM-MT team. Both of those trainings included “Hal” and the scenario of a child in an ATV accident. Friends, the scenario became real for us on Sunday afternoon. When the dust finally settled, I told our crew that we had trained for this. TWICE! I am so grateful for your training and debriefing sessions following the scenarios. Your knowledge and guidance is so appreciated! I knew this scenario could be very real for us in rural Montana, but really hoped it wouldn’t materialize. Unfortunately, it did. I guess I just want to say, “Thank you.” Thank you for the experience so we could be our best selves when our community needed it. Bless you all!
Because they had practiced together beforehand, the team was able to respond quickly and confidently."
This is the power of training in rural areas.
