During Dr. Dave Gurchiek’s tenure in the Montana University System, he served as dean, associate dean, department chair (nursing, health, public safety), faculty/program director, state faculty union vice president, and academic senator. Throughout his academic career he was instrumental in developing a variety of degree programs, certificates, apprenticeships, workforce credentials and dual credit opportunities along with building 2+2 degree pathway options for universities. He worked with program advisory boards and listened to the needs of business and industry to achieve these accomplishments.
Dr. Gurchiek has over 40-years of experience in emergency services, served as a legal expert witness and consultant for prehospital emergency medicine, and was an accreditation site visitor for CoAEMSP. As a nationally recognized speaker, he lectured at over a 100 state and national EMS conferences throughout the United States.
In 2020, Dr. Gurchiek joined Myers McRae Executive Search and Consulting bringing extensive experience in higher education, especially comprehensive two-year colleges. The knowledge and skills that he learned and honed as an academic leader now enables him to assist colleges and universities with their search needs for academic and administrative leaders.
