Misty Kuhl

VICE CHAIR
Misty Kuhl, an A’aniiih member of the Fort Belknap Indian Community, serves as Montana’s Director of Indian Affairs under Governor Greg Gianforte.
Born and raised in Havre, Montana, she is a first-generation college graduate who earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services, graduating cum laude from Montana State University-Billings.
Kuhl brings decades of experience working with Native communities in roles ranging from probation officer to nonprofit director, and previously led Native American outreach at Rocky Mountain College.
Known for her collaborative leadership and dedication to tribal sovereignty, she continues to build strong government-to-government relationships while advocating for education, economic opportunity, and cultural preservation across Indian Country.
