Tamela is a seasoned learning and development leader with over 30 years of experience in education, including 17 years specializing in e-learning and instructional design. She holds a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning and has led the development of innovative online programs supporting more than 120,000 learners. Tamela is known for her ability to blend instructional science with educational technology, creating engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences across higher education and healthcare sectors—always doing so with the heart of a teacher and the curiosity of a creator.
A lifelong Virginian, Tamela draws inspiration from the Blue Ridge Mountains and finds joy in writing, especially in peaceful, natural settings. She is a published author and a music enthusiast. Her debut novel unfolded like a playlist, each chapter influenced by the music that filled her thoughts as she wrote.
Tamela is also an avid theater devotee who has acted, directed, and produced since childhood. Life at home is full, a little loud, and absolutely beautiful as Tamela shares life with her husband of 30+ years, their daughter, two wonderful and wild grandchildren, and as many dogs as her husband will allow her to bring home.
